- 1600 (56 fl oz) milk
- 140 grams (0.309 pounds) cornstarch
- 200 grams (0.441 pounds) sugar
- 2 tablespoons of bitter orange flowers extract
- 150 grams (0.330 pounds) of nuts (whatever you prefer)
Traditional dessert that comes from the island of Lesvos. My grandmother used to prepare it and as a breakfast. Back in those days, people who worked in the fields, wanted in the morning something to give them strength. It was made with goat milk, flour and sugar. Of course here we will change slightly the ingredients. It is easily prepared.
In a heavy pot pour the milk. Heat it lightly. Take 1 cup of it and place it in a bowl with the cornstarch. Mix well. Add the sugar in the milk. Bring to a boil. Add the mixture of cornstarch and whisk well. When the mixture is thick, it’s ready. Pour the bitter orange flowers extract. The smell is fantastic.
Divide the mixture equally among 7-8 small bowls. Garnish with nuts and let it cool. Enjoy it.
